Nature of Appeal: The petitioner, Solomon Maman of 575 Euclid Court, Highland Park, Illinois 60035, requests by authority of Section 150.1301, to Appeal the Zoning Administrator's determination that the east property line of the Subject Property is adjacent to a Street and is therefore a Front Lot Line with a required Front Yard (as Street, Front Lot Line, Front Yard, and related definitions are defined in Section 150.202 of Highland Park Code), and Section 173.010(C) of City Code permits a maximum fence height of 4’ within a required Front Yard, as where petitioner submitted building permit for 6’ high fence. Nature of Appeal: The petitioners and property owners, Matthew and Melissa Tobias, of 169 Laurel Avenue, Highland Park, Illinois, 60035, request by authority of Section 150.1204(A)(1), of the Highland Park Zoning Code, a variation of provisions of Section 150.703, as required under the R4 zoning district, (i) to encroach 21.26 feet within the minimum required rear yard of 35 feet measured from the centerline of the north alleyway, and (ii) to encroach 6.27 feet within a required side yard of 12 feet along the east property line, in order to construct a new addition that will connect the existing single family home to the existing garage, making the garage part of the principal structure.
