Waukegan Community Unit School District 60 issued the following announcement on Jan. 22.
Waukegan High School junior Diego Cortez has qualified to compete in the Illinois High School Association’s Boys Bowling State Finals.
In the Waukegan High School boys bowling team’s inaugural season, Diego bowled a six-game total of 1,340 at the Rockford Sectional on January 18.
The score was good enough to earn sixth place finish, as well as a trip to the State Finals in O’Fallon, Illinois on January 25 and 26.
