Report: Waukegan spent $13,854 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Waukegan Community Unit School District 60 is up 11.6 percent from five years ago, according to a Lake County Gazette analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Lake County school district spent $12,412 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $13,854 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 16313 to 16275.

Waukegan's spending in 2017-18 was 3.9 percent higher than the state average of $13,337.
