Waukegan Community Unit School District 60 issued the following announcement on March 2.
Waukegan High School students are teaming up with State Legislators, Sen. Terry Link and Rep. Rita Mayfield, to host a special School Board Candidate forum.
On Saturday, March 9 candidates for the Waukegan Community Unit School District # 60 Board of Education, will participate in the event where AP Government Students from WHS will serve as organizers and moderators in the first Board candidate forum ahead of the April election.
The forum is a collaboration between WHS students, Mikva Challenge and Waukegan-area legislators, Rep. Mayfield and Sen. Link. The event, which is open to the public, begins at 1 p.m. on March 9 at Waukegan City Hall, 100 N. Martin Luther King Drive.
