City of Highwood City Council met March 05.

Here is the minutes as provided by the council:

CALL TO ORDER by Mayor Pecaro at 7:40 P.M.


     1. Roll Call

Present: Mayor Pecaro, Aldermen: Falberg, Hospodarsky, Levi, Peterson, Slavin

Absent: Alderman Fiore

Also Present: City Manager Coren, City Attorney Ferolo, City Clerk Baruffi, Administrative Assistant Litjens, Assistant City Manager Martin

     2. Pledge of Allegiance

All in attendance recited the Pledge of Allegiance.

     3. Review of Minutes to be Approved

           3.1. Moved by Alderman Peterson, seconded by Alderman Levi to approve the City Council: February 19, 2019 minutes as presented. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried.

           3.2. Moved by Alderman Levi, seconded by Alderman Peterson to approve the Committee of the Whole: February 19, 2019 minutes as presented. All present voting aye, but voice vote, motion carried.

     4. Appointments (Mayor Pecaro)

     5. Approval of Warrant List:

           5.1. Moved by Alderman Falberg, seconded by Alderman Levi to approve the payment of the 03/05/2019 AP Warrant List. All present voting aye, motion carried.

Vote:

Yes: Aldermen: Falberg, Levi, Slavin, Peterson, Hospodarsky

Absent: Alderman Fiore

     6. Public Input Items Not On Agenda

           6.1. A Presentation by Michael Perlman, a District 113 Candidate.

Michael Perlman, a candidate for District 113 presented his platform.

           6.2. A Presentation by Daniel Struck, a District 113 Candidate.

Daniel Struck, a candidate for District 113 presented his platform.

Lisa Hirsh, a candidate for District 112 presented her platform.

Melissa Itkin, a candidate for District 112 presented her platform.

     12. New Business

             12.1. 19-R-4 Moved by Alderman Slavin, seconded by Alderman Falberg to authorize a Resolution Approving an ARC Application for a New Wall Sign at the New Pho Nam Bac Restaurant Located at 114 Washington Avenue, with staff review and approval of the exact wording on the sign. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried.

             12.2. 19-O-2 Moved by Alderman Falberg, seconded by Alderman Levi to waive the first reading and approve an Ordinance Amending 10-3-5: ”Appearance Review Committee; Procedure ’s” to Increase the Number of Members from Five to Seven. All present voting aye, motion carried.

Yes: Aldermen: Falberg, Levi, Slavin. Peterson, Hospodarsky

Absent: Alderman Fiore

Mayor Pecaro stated there have been a number of volunteers to serve on committees with an interest in the Appearance Review Committee.

     15. Adjournment Moved by Alderman Levi, seconded by Alderman Hospodarsky to adjourn the meeting. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried. Mayor Pecaro adjourned the meeting at 8:20 P.M.
