The price of local government in 2017: Village of Kildeer

The Village of Kildeer budget was $5.04 million for its 2017 fiscal year, or $3,695 per household.

That's a decrease of 8.6 percent from 2016, when the village spent $5.52 million, or $4,043 per household.

Kildeer has 1,364 households and a population of 3,968.

Since 2001, the Village of Kildeer budget has grown by 46.8 percent, from $3.43 million. The village population has grown 13.4 percent over the same period, from 3,500.

Salaries accounted for 21.9 percent of village spending in 2017. Kildeer property taxpayers paid $1.10 million for 12 full-time employees and six part-time employees.
