Lake Forest podcast GOP guest: ‘Democrats are raising the cost of media through this next cycle’

Aaron Del Mar, entrepreneur, GOP operator, and guest on the Lake Forest Podcast, said there is "movement" at the grassroots with candidates like Mendoza and Coker entering races, while Democrats are driving up media costs with big spending such as Raja Krishnamurthy’s $19 million Senate run, creating both opportunities and "challenges" for Republicans.

“You're seeing a lot of movement on the grassroots side of people running at the top of the ticket," said Del Mar on the Lake Forest podcast. “We still need more players. You see Mendoza running for mayor—that's a signal. She said before that she's not going to run for two offices at the same time while she occupies one. You're seeing Kroger, Representative Coker from Chicago, jumping into these races.”

“The Democrats are raising the cost of media through this next cycle," said Del Mar. “That is a challenge for some Republicans, because when Raja Krishnamurthy is spending $19 million running for Senate, he's buying up a lot of ad space. It's going to be challenging for many of us to define ourselves versus the Democrats. We have strong headwinds in positive areas, and we have challenges ahead of us as well.”
