City of Waukegan issued the following announcement on April 10.
Waukegan residents who want to discard yardwaste and other landscape materials have two options for disposal on their regularly-scheduled garbage collection day:
Season Subscription for a flat rate fee which covers the nine month period from March 15 to December 15 and is limited to six (6) 33 gallon containers or "kraft" style bags per week. If the customer places more than six (6) bags then all additional bags must have a sticker affixed. Call 847-623-3870 to register for this service. $133.33 per household
Pay-Per-Bag sticker system requires the homeowner or resident to purchase stickers from authorized retailers to adhere to each yardwaste bag or container requiring disposal. The cost is $2.51 per sticker and unlimited bags may be placed for pickup.
Individual yardwaste stickers are available at a number of locations.
