Community High School District 117 issued the following announcement on June 16.
Dear Students and Parents/Guardians,
We hope you’re having a great summer so far. By now you should have received a postcard inviting you to our first ever District 117 Advanced Placement (AP) Boot Camp. We would like to share some more information about this exciting event and encourage you to attend.
You’re invited to this program because you are about to take your first AP course this coming school year. This is very exciting, but we know that you may have many feelings, and some questions, about this. As a district, we want to make sure that you are supported and welcomed as you take on this challenge, which is why we’re offering this opportunity. At Boot Camp you will hear from a dynamic speaker, attend school-specific breakout sessions, hear from AP students about their experiences, and have a tasty lunch. You will have the chance to meet students from your school and across the district who are also first-time AP students.
