Village of Mundelein issued the following announcement on July 9.
Mundelein residents who are interested in getting more involved with their community are encouraged to consider submitting an application for the Village of Mundelein Community Days Commission. Currently, there are two openings on the Commission. There are a total of seven members who are appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the Board of Trustees. All members must be residents of the Village of Mundelein and this is a volunteer position. Meetings are held once per month between January and August, at 8 a.m., Mundelein Village Hall, 300 Plaza Circle.
The Mundelein Community Days Commission members perform the following functions:
oPlan and implement various Fourth of July activities;
oRaise funds for the operating expenses of the activities;

oAppoint volunteers to various committees.
The events and details of the Mundelein Community Days celebration change each year. The objective of the Commission is to make each year’s combination of events and festivities…”The Best Ever.” To reach this goal, the commission looks for new ways to continually improve the festival and they are open to fresh ideas.
