City of Highwood City Council met June 4.

Here is the agenda provided by the council:

CALL TO ORDER by Mayor Pecaro at 7:30 P.M.

1. Roll Call

Present: Mayor Pecaro, Aldermen: Falberg, Levi, Peterson, Slavin Absent: Aldermen: Hospodarsky, Fiore

Also Present: City Manager Coren, City Attorney Ferolo, City Clerk Baruffi

2. Pledge of Allegiance

All present recited the Pledge of Allegiance.

3. Review of Minutes to be Approved

3.1. Moved by Alderman Peterson, seconded by Alderman Falberg to approve the City Council: May 21, 2019 minutes as presented. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried.

3.2. Moved by Alderman Peterson, seconded by Alderman Levi to approve the Committee of the Whole: May 21, 2019 minutes as presented. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried.

4. Appointments (Mayor Pecaro)

4.1. Dan Wertheimer – ARC Appointment

4.2. Paul Jaimes – ARC Appointment

Moved by Alderman Falberg, seconded by Alderman Peterson to approve the Mayor’s appointments of Dan Wertheimer and Paul Jaimes to the Appearance Review Committee.

All present voting aye, motion carried.

Absent: Aldermen: Fiore, Hospodarsky

5. Approval of Warrant List:

5.1. Moved by Alderman Peterson, seconded by Alderman Levi to approve the 06/04/2019 AP Warrant List for payment. All present voting aye, motion carried.

12.1. Moved by Alderman Falberg, seconded by Alderman Peterson to approve Motion Authorizing the City Manager to Work with the Highwood Chamber of Commerce and Street Level Studio to Implement New Street Light Banners in Highwood. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried.

12.2. 19-R-18 Moved by Alderman Falberg, seconded by Alderman Peterson to authorize a Resolution Approving an ARC Application for Façade Renovation at 318 & 320 Green Bay Road. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried.

12.3. Moved by Alderman Falberg, seconded by Alderman Peterson to authorize a TIF District Façade Improvement Grant Award – 318 & 320 Green Bay Road. All present voting aye, motion carried.

12.4. Moved by Alderman Levi, seconded by Alderman Peterson to authorize a Motion Approving the FYE 2020 Budget. All present voting aye, motion carried.

12.5. Moved by Alderman Falberg, seconded by Alderman Peterson to authorize a Motion Updating the Capital Projects Plan for FYE 2020 – FYE 2022 and Authorizing the City Manager to Enter into an Agreement with Christopher Burke Engineering to Complete the Engineering for the FY E 2021

Plan in an Amount not to Exceed $14,500. And, to add Maple Avenue to the list. All present voting aye, motion carried.

12.6. Consideration of a Motion Accepting a Proposal to Add Memorial Benches and Trash Receptacles to Pleasant Park.

Tabled this evening.

12.7. 19-O-8 Moved by Alderman Peterson, seconded by Alderman Falberg to waive the first reading and approve an Ordinance Authorizing the Mayor to Execute Real Estate Contracts for the Purchase of 406 Green Bay Road (PIN 16-15-213-022), 118 North Avenue (PIN 16-15-213-021), 414 Green Bay Road (PIN 16-15-213- 017), Parking Lot Next to 414 Green Bay Road (PIN 16-15-213-019), and 122 North Avenue (PIN 16-15-213-018) in Highwood, Illinois. All present voting aye, motion carried.

The purchase price is $1.1 million which is within the appraised value, with an estimated close date of no later than 8/15/19. The property is located within the TIF district.

15. Adjournment Moved by Alderman Slavin, seconded by Alderman Levi to adjourn the meeting. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried. Mayor Pecaro adjourned the meeting at 7:39 P.M.
