City of Highwood City Council met Aug. 6.

CALL TO ORDER by Mayor Pecaro at 7:38 P.M.
1. Roll Call
Present: Mayor Pecaro, Aldermen: Hospodarsky, Fiore, Levi, Peterson
Absent: Aldermen: Falberg, Slavin
Also Present: City Attorney Jablecki, City Manager Coren, Assistant City Manager Martin, Administrative Assistant Litjens, City Clerk Baruffi
2. Pledge of Allegiance
All present recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
3. Review of Minutes to be Approved
3.1. Moved by Alderman Levi, seconded by Alderman Fiore to approve the City Council: July 16 , 2019 minutes as presented. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried.
3.2. Moved by Alderman Levi, seconded by Alderman Peterson to approve the Committee of the Whole: July 16 , 2019 minutes as presented. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried.
4. Appointments (Mayor Pecaro)
4.1. Moved by Alderman Hospodarsky, seconded by Alderman Peterson to approve the Mayor’s appointment of Dennis Baker – Re-Appointment-Police Pension Board. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried.
4.2. Moved by Alderman Hospodarsky, seconded by Alderman Peterson to approve the Mayor’s appointment of Fergusson Mills – Joint Plan Commission. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried.
5. Approval of Warrant List:
5.1. Moved by Alderman Peterson, seconded by Alderman Levi to approve the 08/06/2019 AP Warrant List for payment. All present voting aye, motion carried.

7. Mayor’s Report
Dominic Baracani, a former City Collector, Veteran, neighbor, and longtime resident of Highwood passed away August 1st. There will be a memorial visitation Monday, August 12th, from 4-8 at Sequin & Symonds Funeral Home. Friends will gather on Tuesday, August 13th (Dominic’s 97th birthday) at St. James Church, 134 North Avenue, Highwood, for a funeral mass at 10:00 A.M.

12.1. Moved by Alderman Levi, seconded by Alderman Peterson to authorize a Motion Authorizing the City Manager to Enter into an Agreement with Pav-Tech for $11,611 for Patching Prairie Avenue. All present voting aye, motion carried.
