Illinois State House District 51 issued the following announcement on June 3
Like many of you, I have been struggling this week with the murder of George Floyd. Last night I searched to find some comfort by attending a prayer vigil lead by faith leaders from the community. One of the most powerful moments was when we were asked to kneel for 8 minutes and 46 seconds -- the amount of time George had a knee to his throat.
Our American pledge ends with, “One nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all.”
Justice for ALL.
Not some.
