Analysis: Winthrop Harbor pays $3.52 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Winthrop Harbor Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 77.8 percent of the $253,154 the Winthrop Harbor Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $3.52 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Lake County Gazette analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Winthrop Harbor contributed $196,853 to the fund, which saw a $5,004 decrease in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $55,794, or 22 percent, in 2018. Another $507 came from other unspecified sources.
