Analysis: Island Lake pays $2.90 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Island Lake Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 74.4 percent of the $327,316 the Island Lake Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $2.90 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Lake County Gazette analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Island Lake contributed $243,401 to the fund, which saw a $41,107 decrease in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $83,915, or 25.6 percent, in 2018.
