Illinois State House District 58 issued the following announcement on Oct. 17.
Wear a mask. Social distance. Wash your hands.
You’ve been hearing these messages since March, and I am grateful to all of you and your families for the extraordinary steps you’ve taken.
You’ve missed out on visiting loved ones. You’ve struggled with lost jobs and confused children. You’ve waited patiently, knowing the winter was coming and that a second COVID-19 wave was coming.
With the news that School District 109 is returning to fully remote education, and IDPH in the coming days is likely to impose mitigation measures on Region 9 and Lake County, it is time to renew our vigilance.
These next days, weeks and months will continue to be hard, but we all need to continue to follow the science. Wear masks. Social distance. Wash your hands.
What happens next is truly up to us.
