Redesign of logo for Big & Little Child Development Center
Big & Little Child Development Center has been part of Mundelein Park & Recreation District forover 36 years. Big & Little provides children with a warm, nurturing, stimulating and challenging environment that promotes social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth. Big & Little strives to help children experience the joy of learning, instill a sense of curiosity and provide an atmosphere of discovery and exploration. Big & Little introduces activities that facilitate language development, sensory awareness and an enhanced understanding of the environment. Staff encourages children to have independence, self-confidence and positive self-esteem.
While the name Big & Little is known throughout the community, we determined that we needed a new logo which more closely communicated the essence of the Big & Little experience. A logo that reflected the warm, nurturing and friendly fun experience a child will have at Big & Little.
After exploring several options, we determined the sun to be an ideal icon. Our Big & Little sun has a warm, happy, confident expression and radiates out our name. It is also a great tie-in to the Park District because children regularly go outside to play at the Big & Little playground and to the Spray Park in the summer. In addition, we incorporated two of the colors (orange and cyan) from the Park District logo for continuity.
