Amy Marsch personally sees the benefits of kids being back in school for in-person learning on a full-time basis.

“My oldest son is now a freshman at the high school and the teachers have been in-person with him every day since the school has been open. It has been amazing for him,” said Marsch, now running for the Lake Forest District 115 School Board. “The connection my son has made with his teachers has been incredible.”

Running on the Let’s Do Better four-member slate, Marsch, a school teacher by trade, lists providing that same opportunity to every student as one of her biggest platform items.

“I’m running because I believe the kids need to be put first,” she added. “They need to be put back in school; their social and emotional health depends on it, not just their academics.”

A resident of Lake Forest for the last 15 years with her husband and four children, Marsch said it’s well past time that the two local school districts started working together for the benefit of the kids.

“Lake Forest has amazing teachers,” she added. “The connection my son has made with his teachers has been absolutely incredible. The trust and relationships of in-person learning cannot be beat.”

Consolidated elections are slated to be held on April 6. The Let’s Do Better slate also includes Ted Moorman, Joanne Marshall and Jeffrey Giannelli.
