CITY OF HIGHLAND PARK: May 1: Arbor Day Drive-Thru Event

City of Highland Park issued the following announcement on Apr 26.

Join us on Saturday, May 1 for an Arbor Day celebration! This year, the event is designed as a safe, socially-distanced, drive-thru (and bike-friendly!) giveaway event. Stop by on Saturday May 1 from 9-11 AM and pick up native plants to brighten up your home and garden this spring.

Giveaways at this event will include:

  • Native Deciduous Tree Seedlings
  • Evergreen Trees
  • Native Shrubs
  • Milkweed Plants
  • Native Seed Packets
  • and more....
Free confidential document shredding for residents will be provided by SWALCO. Shredding will be available from 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM, or until the truck is full. Please note that there is a limit of 4 banker-size boxes of confidential papers per person. Please do not bring newspapers, coupons, magazines or other non-confidential documents as these and other papers may be recycled curbside.

For the safety of all participants, attendees will remain in their vehicles. Walkup & bicyclists will be asked to register to ensure supplies are available. Registration details to come...
