Lake County voter turnout in Illinois’ April 4 Consolidated Election was 56,291, or about 12% of 466,223 registered voters.
That's according to the Lake County Clerk's unofficial results.
Countywide, between 2011 and 2023, the number of ballots cast declined by 4,706. Over the same time period, the number of registered voters increased by 60,533.
Lake County voters cast 18% fewer ballots -- a decrease of 11,977 -- in 2023 than in the last Consolidated Election, on April 6, 2021.
Typically, Consolidated Elections include contests for elected office in cities and villages, parks, library and fire protection districts and school boards.
