Q3 2021 Recap: 4 parolees from Lake County convicted of financial crimes or fraud set for release

There were four offenders convicted of financial crimes or fraud living in Lake County released on parole during the third quarter of 2021, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Lake County Gazette.

The data shows three men and one woman were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for financial crimes or fraud was 34. The youngest parolee was a 25-year-old man sentenced in 2021, and the oldest was a 60-year-old man sentenced in 2021.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Freddie J. Howard. He was convicted in 2021 when he was 22 years old. He is now 25.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
