Q4 2021 Recap: 8 parolees from Lake County convicted of crimes involving alcohol set for release

There were eight offenders convicted of crimes involving alcohol living in Lake County released on parole during the fourth quarter of 2021, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Lake County Gazette.

The data shows seven men and one woman were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for crimes involving alcohol was 38. The youngest parolee was a 25-year-old man sentenced in 2021, and the oldest was a 72-year-old man sentenced in 2020.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Kendall M. Roach. He was convicted in 2020 when he was 27 years old. He is now 31.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
