The Vernon Township GOP is seeking walkers for Lincolnshire’s 4th of July Independence Day Parade.

Those interested are asked to email info@vernongop.win.

“Let us know if you would like to walk with us!” Vernon Township GOP said on Facebook.

The parade is part of Lincolnshire’s larger “Red, White, & BOOM!” Celebration. “Join us at our largest special event of the year! 2023 Red, White, & BOOM! will take place over the course of two days. Attractions, entertainment, food and beverages, and more will occur 4 – 9:30 p.m. on July 3 at North Park; the 5K race, parade, cardboard boat regatta, and fireworks will occur throughout the day on July 4 near/at Spring Lake Park!” Lincolnshire said on the event web page.

The celebration will span July 3 and 4. On July 3, North Park located at 1025 Riverwoods Road will host the Red, White, & BOOM! event from 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The event promises various attractions, including rides, food, a beer tent, and entertainment. The schedule includes performances by the Interactive D, Lincolnshire Bolts, All Star Dogs Trick Show, Reptile Show, and live music by Maggie Speaks playing hits from the '60s to today. Payments at the event can be made in cash or through Venmo. For more information about the event or to register for the 5K race, parade, or regatta, attendees can scan the provided QR code or visit www.lincolnshireil.gov. On July 4, Spring Lake Park will be the venue for a series of events.

The day starts with the registration for the 5K race at 7 a.m., followed by the 41st Annual 5K Race benefiting the Rotary Club of Lincolnshire at 8 a.m. The parade staging for the Red, White, & BOOM! Parade takes place at 9 a.m., with the parade itself starting at 10 a.m. Immediately following the parade, there will be a Cardboard Boat Regatta at Spring Lake Park. At noon, there will be a Blue Star Memorial rededication ceremony hosted by the Lincolnshire Garden Club. The day concludes with a fireworks show at 9:30 p.m., which can be viewed from multiple locations.

The town of Lincolnshire is inviting local businesses and organizations to join the annual parade as a way to celebrate Independence Day together. The parade offers an opportunity for businesses and organizations to showcase their presence and engage with the community. Interested participants are encouraged to reach out to Sam Barghi, the Public Works management analyst, for any inquiries and are requested to complete their registration by Friday, June 16.
