City of Highland Park Board of Fire and Police Commissioners met Dec. 12

CALL TO ORDER

At 4:03 PM Chair Katz called the meeting to order and asked for a roll call.

ROLL CALL

Members Present: Chair Kiki Katz

Commissioner Kris Byrnes

Commissioner Evan Witkowski

Members Absent: None

Staff Present: Board Secretary Nick Barnes

Others Present: None

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Special Meeting of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners – November 1, 2024

Chair Katz requested a motion to approve the open and closed session Minutes of a Special Meeting of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners for the date of November 1, 2024.

Commissioner Witkowski motioned to approve the minutes, Commissioner Byrnes seconded.

On a voice vote:

Voting Yea: Chair Katz, Commissioner Witkowski, Commissioner Byrnes

Voting Nay: None

Abstain: None

Absent: None

Chair Katz declared that the motion passed.

SCHEDULED BUSINESS

A. Approval of FY2024 Work Plan

Chair Katz entertained a motion from Commissioner Witkowski for the Board to approve the FY2024 Work Plan. Commissioner Byrnes seconded.

On a voice vote:

Voting Yea: Chair Katz, Commissioner Witkowski, Commissioner Byrnes

Voting Nay: None

Abstain: None

Absent: None

Chair Katz declared that the motion passed.

B. Selection of Two Meeting Dates in 2024

Chair Katz entertained a motion from Commissioner Witkowski for the Board to select two regular meeting dates for calendar year 2025: June 6 and December 5, 2025.

Commissioner Byrnes seconded.

On a voice vote:

Voting Yea: Chair Katz, Commissioner Witkowski, Commissioner Byrnes

Voting Nay: None

Abstain: None

Absent: None

C. Approval of Destruction of Verbatim Records Older Than 18 Months

Chair Katz entertained a motion from Commissioner Witkowski for the Board for the Board to approve the destruction of verbatim records older than 18 months.

Commissioner Byrnes seconded.

On a voice vote:

Voting Yea: Chair Katz, Commissioner Witkowski, Commissioner Byrnes

Voting Nay: None

Abstain: None

D. Approval to Release Closed Session Minutes Older Than 6 Months

Chair Katz entertained a motion from Commissioner Witkowski for the Board to approve the release of closed session minutes older than 6 months. Commissioner Byrnes seconded.

Voting Yea: Chair Katz, Commissioner Witkowski, Commissioner Byrnes

Voting Nay: None

Abstain: None
