Congratulations to Prospect School, the 2025 District 181 Battle of the Books competition winners.
The final battle, held on Thursday, February 13th, at Monroe Elementary, was a showcase of reading and literary knowledge. Student teams from each elementary school gathered to answer questions about books they had read for the competition.
The competition was fierce, with each team demonstrating impressive recall and understanding of the books. The students' ability to answer in-depth questions about characters, plots, and themes amazed the audience.
In the end, Prospect School emerged victorious, claiming the coveted traveling plaque. But every student who participated deserves applause for their hard work, dedication, and passion for reading.
A special thank you to Monroe School for hosting this year's competition and the dedicated D181 staff who organized the event.
"The Battle of the Books is a testament to the commitment of District 181 to fostering a love of reading in our students," said a representative from District 181.
