John Burke Chief of Police | Lake Forest Police Department
Officers from the Lake Forest Police Department were involved in several arrests related to traffic violations and other offenses in early February 2025.
On February 12, officers responded to a report of a vehicle traveling at high speed on Rte. 41 and Deerpath. The driver, Vincente Torres De Tya, was found to be impaired and arrested for DUI-Alcohol, improper lane usage, illegal transportation of alcohol, child endangerment, and speeding over 35 mph. He was processed and released with an April court date.
In another incident on February 10, Heriberto Santiago was arrested after failing to report an accident on Rte. 41 and Old Elm Rd. Santiago displayed signs of impairment and was charged with DUI-Alcohol, failure to report an accident, and improper lane usage. He was released with a court date later in February.
Delilah A. Navaro faced charges of attempted possession of a controlled substance following a traffic accident on February 7 at Rte. 41 and Westleigh Rd. Officers discovered Navaro had fled the scene but later apprehended her as a passenger in the vehicle involved. She was processed and released with a court date set for later that month.
Jason C. Jimenez was also involved in the same incident as Navaro on February 7. As the driver of the vehicle, he faced charges including DUI-Alcohol, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, illegal transportation of alcohol, and leaving the scene of a property damage accident. Jimenez was processed and released with a March court date.
Anthony Flores was arrested on February 1 following a traffic accident involving his gray Toyota Rav4 at Rte. 41 and Westleigh Rd. Officers determined Flores showed signs of impairment leading to charges of DUI-Alcohol and improper lane usage. He was processed and released with a court date scheduled for later in February.
Lastly, Romel F. Aceituno-Castro faced charges after officers responded to complaints about his driving behavior on February 7 at Rte. 41 and Old Elm Rd. After initially refusing to stop for police, Aceituno-Castro was eventually apprehended and charged with DUI-Alcohol, failure to yield to emergency vehicles, improper lane usage, and driving below the speed limit.
All individuals were processed at the Public Safety Building before being released with scheduled court dates.
