Caseyville Elementary teacher Stacy Tienes was recognized as the February 2025 Kahok Educator of the Month.

The award was presented by Caseyville Principal Chelsea Clark and local Benjamin F. Edwards financial advisor Jason Rehg.

In her nomination of Mrs. Tienes, Mrs. Clark wrote:

"Stacy started her career in Unit 10 in August 1996. In those almost 29 years, she has taught hundreds of kindergarten and first graders. Mrs. Tienes has one of the calmest demeanors I have ever observed in an educator.

This year our school began a voluntary Parent Engagement Committee with teachers. Stacy's veteran voice has been instrumental in helping to plan and enhance teacher and parent partnerships in our school community.

Historically, Stacy has had some of the best academic growth in our school year after year. This year alone, Stacy's students showed 89% SGP* (Student Growth Percentile) in ELA in their Fall to Winter benchmark scores. To those not in the educational world, that's ridiculously amazing!"

Benjamin F. Edwards Financial Advisor and Vice President/Investments Jason Rehg sponsors the award each month during the school year to recognize outstanding educators in Collinsville Community Unit School District #10.

*SGP is determined by first calculating growth between current test scores and previous scores, then comparing that calculation to the growth of academic peers.
