On Friday evening, Collinsville CUSD 10 staff, students, and supporters joined forces with the Collinsville Police Department (CPD) and Collinsville Fire Department (CFD) to support Special Olympics of Illinois by participating in the Polar Plunge.

The district's Kahok team raised over $11,400 in donations. Combined contributions from all three Collinsville teams exceeded $19,000.

In a friendly competition among CUSD 10, CPD, and CFD, the results were:

- Collinsville Kahoks: $11,460 raised (229% of team goal)

- Collinsville Police Department: $4,685 raised (104% of team goal)

- Collinsville Fire Department: $2,995 raised (120% of team goal)

While the school district secured the top spot and CPD earned bragging rights over CFD, organizers emphasized that "the real winners are the Special Olympics athletes. "

Special Olympics Illinois provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in various Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. It also offers programs in health education, leadership development, and personal growth.
