A special shout-out was given to Mrs. Wilburn's and Mrs. Cigliana's 5th grade classes at Dorris Intermediate School for presenting a living wax museum celebrating the legacies of notable Black Americans from various fields such as history, politics, athletics, science, business, and entertainment.

The students selected key figures to research, then made display boards and wrote brief speeches about their subject's contributions. During the event, they brought these stories to life through costumes and interactive presentations. Visitors pressed a "button" at each exhibit to hear the student's recitation, effectively "activating" the historical figure to come to life and talk.

The museum was visited by DIS students, families, and other special guests.
