A dedicated educator with 24 years of experience, Dr. Danielle Moran brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for fostering excellence, equity, and inclusivity to her new role as principal of Greenbriar School. A lifelong learner, she has received multiple degrees and endorsements in higher education while working in leadership roles at both school and district levels. The Board of Education approved her appointment on March 11.

Her selection followed a thorough search process that began with community feedback shaping the ideal candidate profile, followed by administrative interviews and a parent/teacher interview team. Dr. Moran replaces Dr. Ginny Hiltz, who will now serve as principal of Meadowbrook School after leading Greenbriar for nine years.

“The Greenbriar community identified that they wanted someone who is student- centered, a strong educational leader and who demonstrates warmth and empathy toward others,” said Dr. Pearson. “Dr. Moran comes to Greenbriar School with a broad background in curriculum and instruction, distinguished experience as a principal, and a deep understanding of supporting and sustaining a positive school climate and culture. ”

“When we met Dr. Moran we were so excited about the possibility of her bringing her experience, warmth and enthusiasm to Greenbriar,” said Jennifer Moore and Betsy Decker, members of the staff interview team. “We know she will continue to foster the strengths of our unique and inclusive community. ”

Dr. Moran has worked at Wheaton Warrenville District 200 since 2013 where she served as an elementary school principal for seven years before becoming the Director of Elementary Instruction for the past five years. She was also an elementary school principal in Yorkville for three years prior to that role. She began her career as a classroom teacher in Bensenville District 2 where she taught for seven years.

In addition to her teaching roles, she has served as a guest speaker and mentor to beginning teachers while volunteering with PTA programs such as the bilingual parent outreach program at Addison Trail High School.

“I am truly honored and excited to be the next principal of Greenbriar School,” said Dr.Moran.“I sensed right away that this was a special place with strong feelings of belongingness along with dedication towards maintaining high standards in growth & learning”.

She earned her doctorate in educational leadership policy along with superintendent’s endorsement from Northern Illinois University.She holds two master’s degrees from Concordia University one each on education administration & curriculum instruction respectively besides earning bachelor’s degree from Augustana College.
