The Board of Education approved Hugh Boger as the new Principal of Pleasant Hill Elementary School beginning on July 1, during their meeting on March 12. Mr. Boger will replace Mrs. Debra Klein, who has served as the Interim Principal this year and will retire after 33 years in CUSD 200.

Mr. Boger joins CUSD 200 from Naperville Community Unit School District 203, where he has been the Principal at Scott Elementary School since 2017. He has also held other leadership positions in District 203, including Assistant Principal roles at Highlands, Ranch View, and Kingsley elementary schools. Prior to these positions, he began his career as a fourth and fifth-grade teacher before serving as Dean of Students at Stonybrook Intermediate Academy in Indianapolis. Mr. Boger earned a master's degree in education from Indiana University and obtained his principal licensure from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.

Superintendent Dr. Jeff Schuler expressed his satisfaction with Mr. Boger's appointment: “I want to congratulate Mr. Boger on his appointment as the new Principal of Pleasant Hill Elementary School,” said Dr. Schuler. “Mr. Boger comes to Pleasant Hill with more than a decade of school leadership experience. His leadership helped his current school earn a National Blue Ribbon School designation in 2024 and also achieved the exemplary summative designation for two consecutive years. Mr. Boger's proven track record of success makes him a valuable addition to CUSD 200, and we are excited to see the positive impact he will have on Pleasant Hill.”

Mr. Boger is enthusiastic about joining CUSD 200: "I am excited to join the Pleasant Hill Elementary community and CUSD 200,” said Boger. “The dedication of the staff and the support of families at Pleasant Hill create a strong foundation for student success. My passion lies in ensuring that every child is seen, valued, and given the support they need to thrive each day I look forward to building relationships and working together to make a meaningful impact for all students."
