John R. Christian Fire Chief | Barrington Fire Department
The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) has begun an ADA improvement
project along Hough Street and Main Street. Sidewalk removals commenced at
Covington Drive and will progress south toward downtown throughout the day on
Friday, April 11. IDOT anticipates completing removals the same day, with
installation scheduled for the middle of the week beginning April 14.
There will be intermittent single or partial lane closures as work progresses
through town. This project is not associated with any other projects in the
area.
The impacted intersections are:
- Hough Street:
Route 59 at the railroad crossing south of Franklin Street
Route 59 & Franklin Street
Route 59 & Washington Street
Route 59 & Roslyn Road
Route 59 & Covington Drive
- Main Street:
At the railroad crossing east of Raymond Avenue
At the railroad crossing near Cook Street
