Buffalo Grove Police Chief Brian Budds recently addressed the community, reflecting on a tragic incident that occurred in November 2022. The Kisliak family lost their lives in what was described as an act of domestic violence, a事件 that continues to影响 the社区.

Chief Budds announced his participation, along with Village Manager Dane Bragg, in "Familicide," a true-crime podcast series focusing on family-based violence. This type of violence, known as "familicide," accounts for 30% of murder cases. The two-part episode featuring the Kisliak case is scheduled to air on April 15 and April 22.

"We approached this opportunity with great care and compassion, hoping to shed light on warning signs, share the perspective of and impact to first responders, and emphasize the importance of support and prevention," said Chief Budds.

He acknowledged that revisiting such content might be challenging for some individuals and directed residents to support resources available at www.vbg.org/resourcelist. Chief Budds reaffirmed his commitment to fostering a safe and compassionate community in Buffalo Grove.

"We remain committed to fostering a safe and compassionate community here in BG. Thank you for being part of a community that cares," he concluded.
