Community Unit School District 200 has announced the opening of its online registration portal for the 2025-26 school year. This initiative, launched last year, will continue to streamline the enrollment process for families.
Registration for returning students begins on Monday, April 14, and will conclude on Friday, May 9.
To initiate the online registration process, parents and guardians are instructed to visit the district's website and click on the <Enrollment> link located in the upper right portion of the page. From there, they should select the <Register Returning Student> button.
The district has also made provisions for families with children attending multiple CUSD 200 buildings. In such cases, the receiving school of the oldest child will ensure that all submitted documents are distributed appropriately across other relevant buildings, minimizing the need for multiple visits by families.
As part of this year's registration process, educational institutions are now required to annually review and reconfirm parental consent for specific Google services access if students are under 18 years old. One such service is YouTube; however, consent forms will only appear for students in grades 6- 12. Parents must explicitly choose "NO" if they do not wish their student to have access to YouTube.
"YouTube is a widely used supplemental resource aimed at enhancing instruction," said a district representative. "At higher grade levels, students may also use YouTube as a research resource to complete assignments. "
For elementary school students (grades kindergarten-5), YouTube has already been turned off for independent navigation.
Additionally, parents of students in grades 1-12 will encounter a second permission screen related to other Google-owned additional services. These services default to "ON" but can be turned off by selecting "NO" on the permission screen.
For general inquiries about the enrollment process or assistance with any issues during online registration, parents are encouraged to contact their child's school directly.
