Shumard Oak saplings available for Earth Day and Arbor Day celebrations

Shumard Oak saplings are now available outside the Village Hall front door in celebration of Earth Day and Arbor Day. Residents are encouraged to take one for planting.

The Shumard Oak is described as a "stately, strong and long-lived tree with beautiful fall color," making it a suitable selection for yards. This adaptable species has proven successful in urban areas facing challenges such as air pollution, poor drainage, compacted soil, and drought.
