Webster Elementary's third grade students delivered a commendable performance of "The Boy Who Spoke to the Earth" this afternoon.
The story, based on a book by Chris Burkard and David McClellen, follows a boy who can communicate with the earth as he embarks on a magical journey through various landforms in search of happiness. The show, adapted from the book, was written by Webster music teacher Jennifer Bhooshan, along with Katie Brown and Rachel Puleo.
Mrs. Bhooshan highlighted that the elements of the show were created by the students. They selected songs, crafted movements, and provided input on all aspects of the production.
During the performance, third graders played instruments including drums and small xylophones. They provided narration, sang songs, and performed synchronized movements representing different areas on earth from oceans to mountaintops.
