Brad Skertich Auperintendent | Collinsville Community Unit School District 10
On Sunday, April 27, Collinsville CUSD 10 will join forces with Mascoutah School District 19 and Granite City School District 9 to rally in support of their school mascots. This gathering is a response to Illinois HB 1237, currently under consideration in the State Senate, which proposes banning the use of Native American mascots.
The rally is scheduled to take place at Kahok Stadium at 2:00 pm. According to Collinsville CUSD 10, the district believes that its Kahok mascot "respects, honors and celebrates Native American heritage. "
