Grass Lake School announces end-of-year events schedule

As the school year draws to a close, Grass Lake School has announced a series of events to celebrate students' achievements and create lasting memories. Dr. Ryan Wollberg, Principal of Grass Lake School, shared details about these upcoming activities.

The GLS Annual Sports Banquet is scheduled for Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 3:15 PM to 5:00 PM in the GLS Gymnasium. This event will honor student athletes in grades 5 through 8.

On Friday, May 23, 2025, at 12:45 PM, the "8th Grade Walk the Halls" event will take place at GLS. The entire school community is invited to participate.

The "8th Grade Overnight Trip" is planned for Tuesday, May 27 to Wednesday, May 28, 2025. All eighth-grade students will attend this trip to Camp Duncan in Ingleside, IL.

An "All-School Awards Assembly" will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at 1:00 PM in the GLS Gymnasium. This event will celebrate student success across the school. Families of award recipients have been notified by email and provided with an RSVP link.

The Pre-K Year-End Celebration is set for Thursday, May 29, 2025. It will take place at Treehouse Community Playground with sessions from 8:15 AM to 10:05 AM and from 12:30 PM to 2:20 PM for all Pre-K students and their families.

Eighth-grade graduation is scheduled for Friday, May 30, 2025. The ceremony will begin at 6:00 PM outdoors behind Grass Lake School if weather permits; otherwise it will be held indoors in the GLS Gymnasium at 6:30 PM.

An "8th Grade Lock-In" is planned from Monday, June 2 to Tuesday, June 3, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 AM at Grass Lake School.

Kindergarten students and their families are invited to a Year-End Celebration on Monday, June 2, from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM in various locations including LRC classrooms and outdoor areas.

Field Day & All-School Picnic will occur on Tuesday, June 3 starting at 8:00 AM at Grass Lake School. All students and staff are encouraged to attend; eighth-grade students are also invited.

Dr. Wollberg expressed gratitude towards the school community as they conclude what he described as an amazing school year at GLS.
