The village of Mundelein will see an increase in water/sewer rates starting June 1, 2025. The rates are set to rise by 4.5% due to increased costs from the water provider. This adjustment aims to cover both the supplier's charges and operational expenses for all Mundelein homes. Notably, this increase is still below the 5% hike that the village faces for purchasing water.

A minimum bill covering six units will be applied to all accounts each billing period to help offset fixed operational costs. One billing unit corresponds to either 100 cubic feet or 750 gallons of water.

The Storm Water Fee, a flat utility charge used for addressing flooding issues and maintaining the stormwater system, remains in place. This fee is based on parcel size with a minimum rate set at $3 per month or $6 per bi-monthly billing cycle.

Senior citizens may qualify for a discount of $21.95 per billing period if their usage does not exceed fifteen units. Residents aged sixty-five years or older can apply for this discount either in-person or online.

For more information, residents can visit Water Bill | Mundelein, IL or contact via email.
