August is National Make-A-Will Month, a time set aside to encourage individuals to consider estate planning and future protection. The Warren-Newport Public Library is highlighting its available resources during this period to help community members plan for their families and ensure lasting legacies.
The library provides access to books covering various aspects of estate planning, such as “Estate Planning 101: from avoiding probate and assessing assets to establishing directives and understanding taxes, your essential primer to estate planning” by Mary Randolph, “Estate Planning for Dummies” by Vicki Cook, “Get It Together: Organize Your Records, So Your Family Won’t Have To” by Jordan S. Simon, and “Plan Your Estate” by Melanie Cullen. These materials are intended to guide patrons through the process of organizing assets, preparing necessary documents, and understanding related legal considerations.
In addition to print resources, the library offers free online financial planning tools for cardholders. Gale Courses features instructor-led classes on financial topics that can be completed online. LinkedIn Learning provides over 17,000 video tutorials in areas including business skills and estate planning. Udemy’s platform supports personal development with more than 25,000 courses covering subjects like financial management.
The library also encourages participation in its Legacy Society as a way for supporters to contribute toward the institution’s ongoing growth.
“Use National Make-A-Will Month to thoughtfully protect your family and community legacies,” the library stated in its announcement.
