Beach Park Community Consolidated School District 3 is preparing to welcome students back for the new school year. Superintendent Dr. Denise Wilcox addressed families ahead of the first day, expressing anticipation for the return of students and staff.
"If you are a returning family, you’ll remember that last year our theme was 'BELIEVE because our kids CAN.' That belief still guides us today because each child who walks through our doors can learn, lead, and succeed in Beach Park District 3," Wilcox said.
This year’s theme, “Sparking Curiosity, Igniting Core Memories,” draws inspiration from the film Inside Out 2. Wilcox explained its significance: "In the movie, the main character Riley’s memories help shape her sense of self. Here at BPD3, we recognize that the time we have with your child has the power to do the same; to create experiences that build confidence, connection, and a belief in all they can become."
Wilcox emphasized collaboration with families: "It is our honor to partner with you in this journey to spark curiosity, ignite core memories, and strengthen the belief in every student that they can learn, lead, and succeed."
Throughout the academic year, district leadership plans to update families on progress toward Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence recognition and highlight student achievements. Opportunities for engagement with district leaders and spotlights on learning experiences will also be shared.
"Thank you for your partnership, your trust, and your commitment to our shared mission. We are ready for a year filled with discovery, connection, and memories that will last a lifetime," Wilcox stated.
