North Shore School District 112 has announced the formation of a Superintendent’s Task Force for Dual Language Program Consolidation. This move follows the Board of Education’s decision to consolidate the K-5 dual language program at Oak Terrace School, starting in August 2027.
The Task Force will operate from August 2025 through April 2026 and is responsible for creating an implementation plan that incorporates feedback from stakeholders. The final report will be presented to the Board in May 2026. Staff and families from Red Oak and Oak Terrace schools are encouraged to apply to one of three subcommittees: Student Success, Family Engagement, or Facilities and Operations.
“All subcommittee members will also participate in two full Task Force meetings. Childcare will be available for evening meetings, and Spanish translation will be provided.”
