Join us on Thursday, Sept. 18, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Mellody Farm Nature Preserve, 350 N. Waukegan Road, Lake Forest, for a special Author Event: Agnes Knows Nature, where author Seth Marcus and illustrator Janet McDowell will lead children ages 4–12 and their caregivers in a joyful book reading and signing, followed by a guided nature walk through the preserve’s prairie to discover plants and creatures featured in the story, with participation limited to 25 attendees at $8 per person, offering families an engaging, hands-on experience combining storytelling, learning, and outdoor exploration in a beautiful setting.

The Way of the Rain – Hope for Earth- A Symphony for our Planet
Join us on Saturday, Sept. 27, from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at the Gorton Center – John & Nancy Hughes Theater, 400 E. Illinois Road, Lake Forest, for a screening of The Way of the Rain – Hope for Earth – A Symphony for our Planet, a multidisciplinary performance conceived by environmental artist Sibylle Szaggars Redford and narrated by actor and activist Robert Redford, combining music, dance, film, light, spoken word, and visual art to highlight climate change and humanity’s connection to Earth, featuring the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, its youth choir, and conductor Julian Benichou in a moving environmental experience.
