Flags in Illinois lowered to half-staff for former Governor Jim Edgar

Flags across Illinois have been ordered to fly at half-staff following the death of former Governor Jim Edgar. The order, which applies to flags covered by the Illinois Flag Display Act, will remain in effect until Edgar's interment. The date for his burial has not yet been set.

According to the announcement, "Flags covered by the Illinois Flag Display Act have been ordered to fly at half-staff in honor and memory of former Illinois Governor Jim Edgar, who passed away on September 14, 2025. Flags will be flown at half-staff until his interment, which has not yet been scheduled."
