A senior at Richmond-Burton Community High School, Arden Schoeps, has been named the recipient of this year’s DAR Good Citizens Award. The award is given annually to a senior who demonstrates dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism.

“This recognition highlights Arden’s commitment to our school and community, and we are incredibly proud of the positive impact they have made. As part of this honor, Arden will also have the opportunity to participate in a scholarship competition connected to the award,” said Mike Baird, principal of Richmond-Burton Community High School.

Richmond-Burton Community High School is part of District 157 in McHenry County. The district includes 43 teachers with an average salary of $65,602 and a staff composition that is 54.3 percent women and 45.7 percent men. According to recent data from the Illinois State Board of Education, there are no teachers in the district with more than ten absences per school year (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/).

The DAR Good Citizens Award recognizes seniors across the country for their character and contributions both inside and outside their schools.
