Students at United Township High School District 30 received several announcements for the week of October 22, 2025, including information on school meals, upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, sports meetings, and club gatherings.
The cafeteria menu for the day included oven baked chicken leg and meatloaf, both served with whole grain dinner rolls. Sides featured corn, mashed potatoes with gravy, and assorted fresh fruit.
A Hunger Drive Skate Night is scheduled for Thursday, October 23, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Admission requires either three canned goods or a $5 fee per person. Skate rental is not included in the admission price. All attendees must pay the admission fee.
On Thursday, October 23, fifty parking spots in the south end of the student lot will be reserved for college vendors attending a college fair. Staff will monitor these spots to ensure compliance.
The East Moline Public Library will host a Haunted House event on October 24 and 25 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Admission is free and costumes are encouraged. The library will announce the official theme closer to the event date and updates are available on Instagram at @eastmolinelibrary.
The Hampton Youth Committee is seeking volunteers for its annual Boo Bash on Friday, October 24. Volunteers are needed from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Interested students are encouraged to contact Mr. Davis, the College & Career Advisor.
In sports news, boys interested in playing basketball this winter are required to attend a meeting on Tuesday, November 4, immediately after school in the Commons. For questions, students can reach out to Coach Saey or Coach Whiteman. Girls interested in playing soccer should attend a meeting on Monday, October 27 at 3:15 p.m. in the UT Commons.
Several clubs are holding meetings this week. The P7 Club meets Friday morning in Mrs. Pueblas' room for muffins, games, and a lesson on forgiveness. The Student Council meets Friday morning in room 209 South to discuss the Student Hunger Drive. The Hope Club meets Wednesday afternoon in room 189V to work on HOSA events. The LGBT+ club will meet Tuesday, October 28th after school in Miss Williams' room for Halloween-themed activities.
United Township High School District 30 serves Rock Island and Henry counties and represents United Township High School within its jurisdiction.
