September marks Library Card Sign-Up Month, a period when public libraries highlight the range of services available to cardholders. The Warren-Newport Public Library is encouraging community members to sign up for a library card and discover the resources it offers.

According to the library, a card provides access to online tutorials for learning instruments and the ability to borrow musical equipment through its Library of Things. Users can also explore technology skills with hands-on programs or digital platforms such as Udemy. Additional resources include Wi-Fi hotspots, public computers, and printing services.

The library emphasizes that borrowing materials such as books, movies, video games, and crafting equipment helps patrons save money compared to purchasing these items individually. For those looking to advance their careers, the library offers resume-building tools, job search support, and online courses.

A spokesperson from Warren-Newport Public Library stated: "Every time you use your library card, you are not just enriching your own life, but you are also helping to strengthen the library for everyone. High community use helps us advocate for funding, expand services, and continue to be a hub of learning, creativity, and connection."

Residents who do not have a card are encouraged to register during September. Current cardholders are invited to try new services or share information about their experiences with others.
