United Township High School announces Europe trip plans and homecoming events

United Township High School has announced several updates and events for students as of September 30, 2025.

The school cafeteria will serve an Italian chicken sandwich on a whole grain bun, oven-baked French fries, mixed green salad, baby whole carrots, applesauce, and peaches. Students are reminded that they cannot bring items such as bookbags, coats, Chromebooks, or textbooks to the upcoming assembly; attendance should be empty-handed.

A travel opportunity was also announced: United Township High School will organize a trip to Germany, Austria, Hungary, and Slovakia in June 2027. The tour aims to introduce students to classical and traditional music as well as European architecture and landscapes. An informational session about the trip is scheduled for Tuesday, September 30th at 6:00 pm in the Commons. Those interested can RSVP by scanning a QR code sent via email or posted above drinking fountains. Attendees who RSVP become eligible for a $200 discount and entry into a raffle for a $500 scholarship. "Learn about this incredible opportunity on Tuesday, September 30th, at 6:00 pm in the Commons! For freshmen students supporting their Panthers teams after school on Tuesday, Link Crew will host a cookout from 3-5 pm at the softball concessions area; food is provided with student ID required. Bus passes are available if needed.

The speech team reported strong interest during its recent meeting. Interested students must sign up outside Mr. Greer's room (224E) by Wednesday, October 1st or contact him via email if unable to attend previously.

Student Council activities are paused this week due to break but will resume afterward.

Latinos Unidos members have been notified of an after-school meeting today.

Hope Club’s next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October 1st from 3:15 to 5:00 pm in room 189V for Homecoming float decoration preparations.

Homecoming week continues with bingo during lunch today and tonight’s soccer match against Quincy at Panther Pitch—JV starts at 4:30 pm followed by Varsity at 6 pm. Tomorrow’s theme encourages wearing Powder Puff shirts or class colors: green (freshmen), red (sophomores), purple (juniors), pink (seniors). Homecoming tickets remain available during lunch throughout the week ($13 singles/$25 couples). Purchased homecoming shirts can be picked up at the student store during lunch hours.
