LFHS hosts National Chinese Honor Society induction

Lake Forest schools announced that the National Chinese Honor Society induction ceremony took place on September 26 in the high school library classroom, led by Dr. John Trowbridge.

According to a news release by Lake Forest Schools, the ceremony at Lake Forest High School recognized students for their academic achievements and commitment to studying the Chinese language and culture. The event emphasized fostering excellence, encouraging cross-cultural understanding, and highlighting the value of language skills in a global society.

This year’s inductees included Grayson Auriol, Ella Korczak, Addison Ginn, Eleanor Laughton, Riley Ginn, Evie McLaughlin, Lauren Hanson, Katherine Silvay, Nicole Janowicz, Chelsea Song, Vivian Johnson, Ameen Yousuf, and Cooper Zuerlein. Each student was recognized with both their English and Chinese names.

Lake Forest High School is a public secondary school located in Lake Forest, Illinois. Founded in 1935, it serves grades 9–12 for students from Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, and Knollwood. The school emphasizes academic excellence with about 95% of students pursuing higher education. It values mutual respect and collaboration between students and faculty. Recognized as a 2021 National Blue Ribbon School, its motto is "Abeunt Studia in Mores," or "pursuits become habits."

Lake Forest Community High School District 115 serves approximately 1,500 students from Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, and Knollwood. The district offers a wide curriculum including advanced placement courses and various extracurricular activities while emphasizing social-emotional growth and community service. More than 95% of students pursue higher education after graduation. District 115 shares services with District 67 to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
