Two seniors at Mundelein High School, Liam O’Neill and Paige Prochnow, achieved perfect composite scores of 36 on the ACT test taken near the end of their junior year. Both students prepared extensively for the exam held last April.

“It’s an amazing achievement for both of these students,” said MHS Principal Alex Taylor. “Both Paige and Liam showed that they are willing to put in the effort to do their very best. We’re all so glad it paid off for them.”

Paige Prochnow used a range of resources, including the ACT grammar rules website, YouTube videos for math, and practice questions for reading and science. She also credited her honors and AP classes at Mundelein High School with helping her prepare. Liam O’Neill began his preparation in his sophomore year with Kahn Academy materials for the PSAT and SAT before switching to numerous practice tests on the ACT website.

Both students are active in school activities. Prochnow is involved in Varsity Volleyball, Varsity Track and Field, Peer Tutors Club, National Honor Society, SALT, and more. She has also been named a semifinalist in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program. O’Neill participated in baseball and cross country earlier in high school and now plays piano in the Jazz Orchestra, show choir Noise, and the pit orchestra for the school musical. He is active in the AP Peer Tutor Club and has tutored over 100 students at MHS.

The two students were recognized at the Mundelein School District 120 Board of Education meeting on October 7.
